Igualmente, la publicaci\u00f3n brit\u00e1nica\u00a0<em>Nature<\/em>\u00a0tambi\u00e9n ha destacado este hallazgo como uno de los eventos cient\u00edficos m\u00e1s significativos del a\u00f1o en su balance anual.<\/p>\n<p id=\"paragraph_2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">El evento tuvo lugar<strong>\u00a0el pasado 17 de agosto<\/strong>, cuando cient\u00edficos de todo el mundo presenciaron algo nunca visto a\u00a0<strong>130 millones de a\u00f1os luz:<\/strong>\u00a0dos estrellas de <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('neutron',event); return false;\">neutrones<\/a> formando<strong>\u00a0una espiral en una explosi\u00f3n espectacular<\/strong>\u00a0que fue estudiada por observatorios de todos los rincones del planeta.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/e01-elmundo.uecdn.es\/assets\/multimedia\/imagenes\/2016\/01\/29\/14540821948648.jpg\" alt=\"Imagen relacionada\" \/><\/div>\n<p id=\"paragraph_3\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Detectores de <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('gamma rayos',event); return false;\">rayos gamma<\/a> (observatorio\u00a0<strong>Fermi<\/strong>\u00a0de la\u00a0<strong>NASA<\/strong>\u00a0e\u00a0<strong>INTEGRAL<\/strong>\u00a0de la\u00a0<strong>ESA<\/strong>) y telescopios (el\u00a0<strong>VLT<\/strong>, el\u00a0<strong>NTT<\/strong>, el telescopio<strong>\u00a0MPG\/ESO<\/strong>\u00a0de 2,2 metros,\u00a0<strong>ALMA<\/strong>\u00a0o el Telescopio\u00a0<strong><a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('hubble',event); return false;\">Hubble<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0de la NASA\/ESA) llegaron a presenciar el evento. El evento tambi\u00e9n fue captado por<strong>\u00a0los detectores de ondas gravitacionales LIGO,<\/strong>\u00a0en Estados Unidos, y\u00a0<strong>Virgo<\/strong>, en Italia.<\/p>\n<p id=\"paragraph_4\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">El estallido confirm\u00f3 varios modelos astrof\u00edsicos clave, revel\u00f3\u00a0<strong>el lugar de nacimiento de muchos elementos pesados como el oro<\/strong>\u00a0y prob\u00f3\u00a0<strong>la teor\u00eda general de la <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('relatividad',event); return false;\">relatividad<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0como nunca antes.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.esa.int\/var\/esa\/storage\/images\/esa_multimedia\/images\/2016\/02\/gravitational_waves\/15806630-2-eng-GB\/Gravitational_waves_medium.gif\" alt=\"Resultado de imagen de Detectores de rayos gamma (observatorio Fermi de la NASA e INTEGRAL de la ESA\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p id=\"paragraph_5\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adem\u00e1s, gener\u00f3<strong>\u00a0ondas gravitacionales<\/strong>. Este hallazgo supuso la detecci\u00f3n de la\u00a0<strong>quinta onda gravitacional<\/strong>, la primera detecci\u00f3n de onda gravitacional con un origen diferente al de la colisi\u00f3n de <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('agujero negro',event); return false;\">agujeros negros<\/a> y, por primera vez, la localizaci\u00f3n y estudio de\u00a0<strong>la primera contrapartida visible en ondas electromagn\u00e9ticas<\/strong>\u00a0de una fuente de onda gravitacional. Precisamente,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elespanol.com\/ciencia\/investigacion\/20171016\/254725323_0.html\">el descubrimiento de las ondas gravitacionales<\/a>\u00a0constituy\u00f3 para\u00a0<em>Science<\/em>\u00a0el hito cient\u00edfico de 2016 y gan\u00f3\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elespanol.com\/ciencia\/investigacion\/20171003\/251475186_0.html\">el Premio Nobel de F\u00edsica 2017<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"paragraph_6\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Desde\u00a0<em>Science<\/em>\u00a0subrayan que este fen\u00f3meno fue f\u00e1cilmente\u00a0<strong>el evento m\u00e1s estudiado en la historia de la astronom\u00eda<\/strong>: unos\u00a0<strong>3.674 investigadores de 953 instituciones colaboraron<\/strong>\u00a0en un solo documento que resume la fusi\u00f3n y sus secuelas.
