Estos grandes conjuntos de estrellas, gas y polvo en movimiento, con m\u00faltiple sistemas solares, los m\u00e1s variados y ex\u00f3ticos objetos, tienen en su seno fuentes de energ\u00edas que no podr\u00edamos encontrar en ninguna otra parte. All\u00ed donde miremos veremos un n\u00famero infinito de estas \u201cciudades\u201d celestes; algunas, m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as, con unas pocas decenas de estrellas y otras que pueden llegar a tener cientos de miles de millones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sus tama\u00f1os var\u00edan mucho y pueden tener di\u00e1metros de algunas decenas de a\u00f1os luz a cientos de miles de un extremo a otro. espect\u00e1culo que se puede contemplar en las colisiones de galaxias, es el m\u00e1s grande, el m\u00e1s espectacular de todos los choques del Universo (dejando a un lado la colisi\u00f3n de dos Agujeros negros super-masivos que, al no haber podido ser contemplado nunca, no podemos hablar de su supuesta e inmensa magnitud). Dos galaxias que suman unos trescientos mil millones de estrellas, cuando colisionan (pensemos en Andr\u00f3meda y la V\u00eda L\u00e1ctea), \u00bfQu\u00e9 espect\u00e1culos nos podr\u00eda ofrecer? \u00bfCu\u00e1ntos miles de nuevas estrellas calientes podr\u00edan surgir de esas fuerzas mareales de intensa Gravedad y fuerzas energ\u00e9ticas y de radiaci\u00f3n de esos intensos vientos solares desatados?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aqu\u00ed tenemos un C\u00famulo que, en realidad, tiene unas dos mil unidades. Los astr\u00f3nomos creen que los c\u00famulos crecen por fusi\u00f3n\u00a0 y que los irregulares son m\u00e1s j\u00f3venes que los otros. Los gases calientes provenientes de las galaxias se agrupan en el centro del c\u00famulo y emiten <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('rayos x',event); return false;\">rayos X<\/a>, que se detectan desde la Tierra y que muestran con mayor claridad si cabe la forma del c\u00famulo. El C\u00famulo de Virgo, a unos 50 millones de a.l. de nosotros, situado en la Constelaci\u00f3n de Virgo, en realidad est\u00e1 dominado por tres galaxias el\u00edpticas gigantes. En los a\u00f1os 1781 y 1790, William y Caroline Herschel catalogaron 300 \u201cnebulosas\u201d en esa regi\u00f3n del cielo, por lo que este c\u00famulo se conoce desde hace dos siglos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Una curiosidad inesperada es el hecho de que, las observaciones de los sat\u00e9lites de <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('rayos x',event); return false;\">rayos X<\/a> muestran que los c\u00famulos de galaxias contienen gases calientes a una temperatura superior a muchos millones de grados cent\u00edgrados. El gas viene de las galaxias y forman grandes concentraciones en el centro de los c\u00famulos, y, de este material, forzado por la Gravedad, se forman nuevas estrellas en esas nueves de gas caliente y m\u00e1s masivo que las propias galaxias.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Existen regiones de hasta 100 millones de a\u00f1os luz que est\u00e1n enteramente ocupadas por superc\u00famulos. Al igual que las estrellas se agrupan en c\u00famulos, estos se re\u00fanen en superc\u00famulos, que pueden contener decenas de c\u00famulos en regiones de enorme extensi\u00f3n y, estos superc\u00famulos tienen formas complejas. Algunos parecen haces de galaxias y otros son planos como unas tortitas .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-1oe-DFhusTI\/TyWV3s45fwI\/AAAAAAAAAKk\/6E2WAfU26Tw\/s1600\/page+vbb.jpg\" alt=\"Paseando por el Universo: Grupo Local\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nuestro Grupo Local pertenece al superc\u00famulo local, centrado en torno al C\u00famulo de Virgo. Est\u00e1 formado por once nubes principales formando una estructura plana diez veces m\u00e1s ancha que gruesa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Algunas galaxias se diferencian del resto porque liberan mucha energ\u00eda desde una zona min\u00fascula, m\u00e1s peque\u00f1a que el Sistema solar, cerca de su centro. Las llamamos galaxias activas, e incluyen los <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('quasars',event); return false;\">quasars<\/a>, blazars, radio-galaxias y galaxias Seyfert. Todos estos objetos pertenecen a la misma familia. Aunque est\u00e1n relacionados, lo que vemos depende de la distancia a la que se encuentra la galaxia y del \u00e1ngulo desde el que podamos observarla.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align:
