Los cristales, que tienen un tama\u00f1o similar al de un disco de\u00a0<a title=\"Hockey\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hockey\">hockey<\/a>, son enfriados a la temperatura de 50\u00a0<a title=\"Kelvin\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kelvin\">milikelvin<\/a>\u00a0(0,05 K). Esta temperatura tan cercana al\u00a0<a title=\"Cero absoluto\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cero_absoluto\">cero absoluto<\/a>\u00a0hace que los \u00e1tomos del cristal vibren muy lentamente, por lo que, si cualquier WIMP impactara contra un \u00e1tomo del cristal, se producir\u00eda una onda de sonido, pues el \u00e1tomo que recibe el impacto desplaza en su vibraci\u00f3n a los \u00e1tomos de su alrededor, tarea de la que se encarga una capa de metal (<a title=\"Aluminio\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Aluminio\">aluminio<\/a>\u00a0y\u00a0<a title=\"Wolframio\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wolframio\">tungsteno<\/a>). Este tungsteno se encuentra a una temperatura cr\u00edtica, por lo que ejerce de\u00a0<a title=\"Superconductor\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Superconductor\">superconductor<\/a>, y las vibraciones que se generan en el cristal calientan la capa de metal, que se detecta a trav\u00e9s del cambio en la resistencia del mismo.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">S\u00ed los WIMPS han sido buscados por muchos y de muchas maneras pero, sin encontrarlos hasta el momento y en ello est\u00e1 empe\u00f1ado el LHC que cuenta con m\u00e1s potencia que otros experimentos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/francis.naukas.com\/files\/2014\/03\/Dibujo20140406-WIMP-direct-detection.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"304\" height=\"203\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">los\u00a0<em>WIMPs<\/em>, si finalmente resultan ser las part\u00edculas responsables de la &#8220;<a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('materia oscura',event); return false;\">materia oscura<\/a>&#8221; no bari\u00f3nica ( si es que realmente existen), deber\u00edan tener propiedades muy concretas al hacer &#8220;imposible&#8221; o &#8220;dificil&#8221; que no podamos verla a pesar de que conforma una gran parte de la masa del Universo, no interacciona mediante la <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('fuerza electromagnetica',event); return false;\">fuerza electromagn\u00e9tica<\/a>, lo que nos lleva a pensar que son neutras y, sin embargo, s\u00ed parece que emitan fuerza gravitatoria&#8230; \u00a1Es todo tan raro!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/francis.naukas.com\/files\/2015\/04\/Dibujo20150417-dark-matter-gas-temperature-illustris-project-dark-matter-particle-mass-marco-cirelli-neutel-2015-580x403.png\" alt=\"Dibujo20150417 dark matter - gas temperature - illustris project - dark matter particle mass - marco cirelli - neutel 2015\" width=\"580\" height=\"403\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En f\u00edsica, el consenso cient\u00edfico es que la <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('materia oscura',event); return false;\">materia oscura<\/a> existe con una certeza del 100% (Bueno, yo no entro en ese 100 x 100 y soy muy esc\u00e9ptico en cuanto a la existencia de <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('materia oscura',event); return false;\">materia oscura<\/a> a la que se agarran los cosm\u00f3logos como el ahogado a un clavo ardiendo, ya que, no saben, por qu\u00e9 las galaxias se alejan unas de otras a tanta velocidad y lo mismo las estrellas en las galaxias, y, la explicaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil para ellos&#8230; \u00a1la <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('materia oscura',event); return false;\">materia oscura<\/a>&#8221;. Sabemos que interacciona muy poco con la materia ordinaria, por ello detectarla es extremadamente dif\u00edcil, pero la estamos buscando con ah\u00ednco y tes\u00f3n en un rango de 90 \u00f3rdenes de magnitud. Has le\u00eddo bien, buscamos una part\u00edcula con una masa entre los yocto-gramos y los yotta-gramos. La hemos descartado en muchos lugares, pero hay muchos otros en los que a\u00fan podr\u00eda esconderse.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Uno de los grandes objetivos del LHC Run 2 es buscar una part\u00edcula candidata a la <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('materia oscura',event); return false;\">materia oscura<\/a> si es que hay alguna que est\u00e9 a su alcance. No sabemos si est\u00e1 a su alcance. Uno de los objetivos del LHC Run 2 es explorar la b\u00fasqueda de una part\u00edcula de <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"referencia('materia oscura',event); return false;\">materia oscura<\/a> en un peque\u00f1o rango de energ\u00edas (la escala d\u00e9bil entre cientos y miles de GeV). Nos gusta creer que hay muchas razones f\u00edsicas por las cuales deber\u00eda esconderse en dicha escala. Pero la Naturaleza es sutil, aunque no perversa. Igual que el borracho que ha perdido sus llaves al entrar en casa de noche las busca debajo de la farola, donde hay luz, aunque est\u00e9 a unos metros de distancia, buscamos la part\u00edcula donde podemos hacerlo. Y nuestra esperanza es encontrarla, pero si no la encontramos all\u00ed, como somos tercos, seguiremos busc\u00e1ndola.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p>\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\"
