Esa inclinaci\u00f3n lateral del planeta cambia radicalmente la forma en que los rayos solares, que son los que irradian calor sobre la Tierra, impactan sobre la atm\u00f3sfera y la superficie terrestre. De ese modo, se desechan teor\u00edas como que en verano hace m\u00e1s calor porque el cielo est\u00e1 m\u00e1s despejado o porque hay m\u00e1s horas de luz, que intentan explicar la diferencia de temperatura. Por eso, en julio o agosto da la sensaci\u00f3n de que el Sol llega m\u00e1s arriba en el cielo. Lo que ocurre es que se alinea con el hemisferio norte. Si el eje fuera perpendicular al ecuador y a los rayos del sol, no existir\u00edan las estaciones y los d\u00edas durar\u00edan exactamente lo mismo siempre en todos los lugares del mundo.
