Se trata de la muestra m\u00e1s grande de estrellas muy masivas identificada hasta la fecha. Los resultados, que ser\u00e1n publicados en la revista Monthly Notices de la Royal Astronomical Society, plantean muchas preguntas sobre la formaci\u00f3n de este tipo de gigantes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media4.obspm.fr\/public\/VAU\/images\/evolucion\/etacarinaevlt.jpg\" alt=\"Resultado de imagen de Estrellas masivas\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"left\">\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"left\"><strong>La estrella\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media4.obspm.fr\/public\/VAU\/images\/evolucion\/images-TeX4ht\/evolucion471x.png\" alt=\"j\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0de Carena es tan masiva (100 veces m\u00e1s que el Sol) y luminosa (5 millones de veces la del Sol), que su vida llega casi al final a pesar de estar a\u00fan en la nebulosa en la que naci\u00f3. (Cr\u00e9dito ESO-VLT).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"left\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"left\">\u00a0Las estrellas m\u00e1s masivas dejan la secuencia principal cuando a\u00fan no han salido de la nube de materia interestelar donde nacieron, ya que, su voracidad en fusionar elementos es enorme, sus temperaturas las hacen mucho m\u00e1s luminosas y, sus vidas son m\u00e1s cortas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"left\">Estas estrellas, al ser tan grandes, tienen temperaturas mucho m\u00e1s altas, tanto en sus superficies como en sus n\u00facleos, que las que ocurren en el Sol (cuya superficie est\u00e1 a 6000 K, mientras que una estrella de 15 MS tiene una temperatura superficial de 28 000 K.) Es por esto que las estrellas m\u00e1s masivas queman el hidr\u00f3geno del n\u00facleo m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido, haci\u00e9ndolas m\u00e1s brillantes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"left\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"left\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"left\"><img decoding=\"async\" una estrella s\u00faper-gigante, y su evoluci\u00f3n se vuelve mas r\u00e1pida. Dos ejemplos de estrellas s\u00faper-gigantes son las estrellas de Betelgeuse y Rigel en la constelaci\u00f3n de Ori\u00f3n. Betelgeuse es 1000 veces m\u00e1s grande que el Sol, y 20 veces m\u00e1s masiva.
