Llamadas \u201cfumarolas negras\u201d son respiraderos de burbujas con agua hirviendo y fluidos \u00e1cidos calientes. Por el contrario, los respiraderos de ventilaci\u00f3n en el nuevo estudio -la hip\u00f3tesis del cient\u00edfico Michael Russell del JPL en 1989- son m\u00e1s suaves y se filtran con l\u00edquidos alcalinos.
